The Project Team
In addition to our Board of Directors, who have accepted the challenges of fundraising, marketing and public relations, and liaison with Tryon and Harmon Field officials and other organizations that remain key to our success, we have developed a close working relationship with Mark Byington, a local landscape architect.

Mark has an exemplary record of producing aesthetically pleasing and functional landscaping projects throughout the Southeast. Mr. Byington has also developed an extensive knowledge of Harmon Field, having provided years of ongoing services to the complex, including the creation of CAD (computer-aided design) drawings of the entire facility. 

 Another critical member of the Project Team is David Deming. David joined the project in the summer of 2019 with the benefit of years of experience as a distinguished sculptor and artist.

Mr. Deming has established a very successful career known nationally and internationally for his Sculptural output in both Abstract Sculpture primarily in metal and his Figurative Sculpture in bronze and other media His sculpture has been shown widely in over 50 competitive exhibitions, Numerous one and two person exhibitions and his works are in many private collections across the country. Among the sports figures he has sculpted are Jim Brown of the Cleveland Browns, and Larry Doby and Frank Robinson of the Cleveland Indians.

We envision other additions to the team as the project enters the construction phase. As much as is feasible to so, we would like to use local suppliers of goods and services, in order to benefit the local business community and to ensure that those who work on the project have a true appreciation for its significance.
